Spaces are built from more than finishes—they’re built from feeling. Pearson Design Group Interiors curates lighting, materials, art, and furnishings with a considered hand, creating homes that feel cohesive, grounded, and personal. Inspired by your life and shaped by your surroundings, each space is designed to live beautifully over time.

At PDG Interiors, interior design is not a series of selections — it is a carefully managed journey from concept to completion. Our process is intentionally structured to ensure design integrity, budget clarity, seamless coordination with the build team, and a final environment that feels considered in every detail.

We guide our clients through six distinct phases, each building upon the last, so the finished home is cohesive, personal, and beautifully executed.

DESIGN AND BUDGETING

Every successful interior begins with clarity of vision and alignment of budget.

In this foundational phase, we establish interior design concepts and develop space planning strategies based on the project scope, the interior design budget, and contractor pricing or allowances. Preliminary ideas are thoughtfully developed and presented for Owner review, ensuring early agreement on direction before detailed selections begin.

This phase sets the tone for the entire project — creatively and financially.

ARCHITECTURAL INTERIORS

Once the design direction is established, we turn to the architectural elements that define how the home will function and feel. PDGI is closely involved in interior architectural decisions – guiding finish selections such as plumbing fixtures, appliances, tile, slabs, and accessories – to ensure the architecture transitions seamlessly to the interior composition and future furniture schemes. We oversee all interior drawings and elevations, maintaining technical precision and continuity through every phase.

INTERIOR DESIGN AND FURNISHINGS (FF&E)

With the architectural interiors defined, we shift focus to the layers that bring warmth, personality, and livability to the home. This phase considers the interior environment holistically and transitions into detailed selections including furnishings, art, window treatments, and decorative lighting. During this phase, investment is clearly defined and aligned with the design vision, ensuring each selection is both intentional and informed. Bedding, housewares, and accessories, are then layered in to complete the composition.

PROCUREMENT

As your home begins to take shape, we manage the ordering and coordination of all approved furnishings and materials. Pearson Design Interiors manages all procurement and logistics, coordinating directly with vendors and artisans to ensure each piece is produced, delivered, and installed as intended. Orders, condition, storage, and timelines are fully overseen, providing a seamless and effortless experience for the Owner.

INSTALLATION

As construction nears completion, Pearson Design Interiors coordinates the phased delivery, placement, and installation of furnishings and materials as the home becomes ready to receive them. Each element is positioned and styled with intention, allowing the interior to come together cohesively.

POST INSTALLATION

Our involvement does not end on installation day. We conduct a post-installation walkthrough with the Owner to develop a punch list and address any changes, additions, or adjustments needed to ensure the final result meets our shared expectations.

The result, a home and an investment that is not only beautifully designed, but carefully managed from the first concept to the final accessory — where every decision is intentional, every detail is considered, and the process feels as seamless as the finished space.

Larry Pearson
Founding Principal

University of California, Santa Cruz

Larry Pearson loves to ask questions. His favorite ones start with the same word: “How.” How do we define yet integrate space: space for solitude, space for family, space for friends? How do we tie the lines of architecture to this natural backdrop? How can we authentically connect humans with design—physically, visually, socially, and emotionally?

For more than three decades, these are the design puzzles Larry has worked to solve, one structure at a time, each a unique answer in itself. Influenced by his clients’ dreams; his travels in the US, Asia, and Europe; and a palpable fascination with regional materials and settings, Larry thirsts to create bespoke designs that enrich human patterns of life…or even create new ones.

The natural migration from room to room, the uninterrupted flow from inside to outside, the internal human shifts from “world” to “home”—those are the elements Larry always seeks to elevate, enhance, and ease through design.
